On the twelfth day of Christmas,
my true love sent to me
Twelve drummers drumming,
Eleven pipers piping,
Ten lords a-leaping,
Nine ladies dancing,
Eight maids a-milking,
Seven swans a-swimming,
Six geese a-laying,
Five golden rings,
Four calling birds,
Three French hens,
Two turtle doves,
And a partridge in a pear tree!
It would have been better if my true love had said he would help me take down the decorations, I think, yes?
Today when I took down my Christmas tree and the decorations, I felt a little melancholy the holidays are over. Sigh! Did you feel the same way?
Christmas is always a little bit magical with fairy lights everywhere. People want to be kinder to one another. Beautiful old carols play in the malls. Everything seems a bit more special and little miracles seem to be everywhere.
I decided to do a Facebook post on this feeling of melancholy, then I thought, you know something? I had a great holiday season and I have so much to be grateful for. Pretty soon, I listed out a bunch of stuff to be grateful for like the wonderful time I had during Christmas and the New Year, how thankful I am to spend this time with family and friends. It was not a really long list but at the end of it, I felt jazzed up and so happy. I had a great energy lift and shift!
Being able to reach out to you on this amazing thing called the Internet is of itself a miracle! Wow! I feel so privileged that I get to boldly go out into the world from my comfy armchair and share with you.
Miracles are all around us but sometimes we get busy and let them slip by unnoticed.
I am sure you will agree that gratitude begets more things to be grateful for, including, even more and bigger miracles.
Yes, though, this beautiful holiday season is over, miracles are still to be found everywhere.
So let's keep holding that frequency of gratitude. You never know what you're going to get!
Oh yes, I couldn't help but share this song by one of the great male singers of today, Adam Lambert.
"It would have been better if my true love had said he would help me take down the decorations, I think, yes?"
ReplyDeleteYup, if only... ;-)
